Uzo Biosah
Energy Conference Co-Chair
Chibuzor Biosah—Uzo for short—is pursuing a dual Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Policy degree at Duke to gain the knowledge and skills required to advance policies and practices that promote the common good. As global temperatures rise and economic inequalities worsen, she believes there are opportunities for private, public, and non-profit organizations to work together to accelerate the clean energy transition while improving quality of life for people around the world. She helped organize the policy panel for the 2023 Energy Conference, and she’s excited to serve as Co-Chair this year. She has a background in technology and urban policy, and her summer 2024 internship was at The Bridgespan Group.
Madeleine Fox
Energy Week Co-Chair
Madeleine is from Charlotte, North Carolina and is pursuing her Master of Public Policy at the Sanford School of Public Policy. Before arriving at Duke, Madeleine worked for four years at the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) in Washington, D.C.. At CBO, she worked on budgetary projections and cost estimates for the National Park Service and trade policy. Before CBO, Madeleine graduated from Wake Forest University in 2019 with a double major in Economics and Politics & International Affairs. In her spare time, she enjoys running, playing tennis, and traveling.
Nadia Khmou
Case Competition Co-Chair
Nadia Khmou is a second-year MBA student specializing in Entrepreneurship and Energy Finance. With a rich civil engineering and public finance management background, she has overseen large infrastructure projects and led policy audits. These experiences have fueled her drive to create impactful, innovative solutions in the energy sector. Passionate about bridging technical expertise with strategic insights, Nadia finds deep fulfillment in co-chairing the 2024 Energy in Emerging Markets Case Competition. She has enjoyed collaborating with a talented team and engaging graduate students and judges worldwide to formulate a solution for this year’s competition partner.
Ryan Mascheri
Energy Conference Co-Chair
Ryan applied to MBA programs looking to learn about the energy industry and how business can help make it happen. He found that Fuqua’s focus on energy and the environment, and the people that are at the heart of it, was unmatched and made the school a no-brainer. After a great experience working on the 2023 Energy Conference team, he’s ecstatic to have the opportunity to help lead one of the premier business school events focused on energy, especially in a crucial year like 2024. Ryan comes from a background in oil & gas operations and spent his summer at Duke Energy, in their Finance team.
Vanshika Mittal
Case Competition Co-Chair
Vanshika is a second year Master of Environmental Management student at Nicholas School of the Environment. Prior to Duke, she was an Assistant Manager at Adam Smith International where she drafted technical proposals for international development projects across Asia, Africa, and Europe. She is passionate about energy and environmental issues in the global south, particularly on enabling a just clean transition.
Brian Mulu
Case Competition Co-Chair
Brian is a second-year Master of Environmental Management student at the Nicholas School of the Environment, specializing in Energy, Environmental Analytics, and Modeling. Before Duke, Brian, who has an undergraduate background in electrical engineering, worked as a technical advisor with Germany’s international development agency (GIZ GmbH), supporting project development for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in emerging markets and humanitarian settings.
Tyler Ratcliffe
Energy Week Co-Chair
Tyler is a third year undergraduate studying economics and environmental science, with a focus in renewables and energy transition. He has experience in renewable energy markets with the Green-e REC program, grid modernization at Duke Energy, and biofuels at bp. On campus, he is closely involved with the undergraduate Energy and Climate Club, and serves as a Resident Assistant on West Campus. Outside of energy, he enjoys baking, cooking, reading, and rewatching Succession.

Mudit Agrawal
Solar Panel
Mudit Agrawal (’25) is a junior majoring in Mechanical Engineering with the certificate in Energy & Environment. This past summer he interned at BlackRock’s Decarbonization Partners group as an Summer Analyst, and is currently working part time with Sightline Climate as a Research Analyst. On campus, Mudit is the Director of Projects for the Duke Undergraduate Energy and Climate club, and Co- Executive Director for Energy Terminal. He also will be teaching a House Course on an Intro to Climate and Energy VC Investing his senior year.
Milena Bimpong
Community Dinner
Milena is a second year Master of Public Policy student at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke, with a concentration in Environment & Energy. She is originally from New Jersey, and graduated with her B.A. in Biology & Society from Cornell University in 2022. Prior to starting her MPP at Sanford, Milena worked at Sustainable Finger Lakes, a sustainability nonprofit organization in Ithaca, New York. At Sustainable Finger Lakes, Milena was the Tenant Engagement Coordinator for the Clean Energy & Equity Pilot, which focuses on expanding access to energy efficiency upgrades for low-to-moderate income renters in Ithaca. This led to Milena’s interest in energy and environmental policy, as she is specifically interested in how transitioning to clean energy at local, state, and federal levels will improve environmental health outcomes. She is excited to be a part of the Energy Week leadership team and is looking forward to working alongside leaders who are also passionate about a clean energy future. Milena enjoys knitting, crocheting, watching reality TV, and listening to R&B throwbacks in her free time.
Katia Bunyi
Energy Conference Company Expo Team Lead
Katia is an Master of Business Administration candidate at Duke University, where she is exploring her interests in the intersection of energy and finance. Katia has always been passionate about pursuing an impact-focused career. Prior to Duke, she was working towards financial inclusion as Product Manager at a FinTech company based in the Philippines. This summer, Katia interned at Marathon Capital, the largest independent investment bank dedicated to servicing the clean economy. She is excited to deepen her exposure to the clean energy transition at Duke through the Energy Conference.
Maricela Castillo
Energy Conference Operations Team
Maricela is currently pursuing an Master of Business Administration at the Fuqua School of Business. She is deeply passionate for open innovation and the transformative potential of multidisciplinary innovation communities in addressing complex challenges. With a Master of Innovation Management and Policy, she founded and led for eight years the first boutique consulting firm in Peru dedicated to fostering collaboration networks between scientists and businesses. Her work focused on the valorization of agrobiodiversity and effectively tackling environmental challenges faced by local SMEs.
Sumit Dalsania
Energy Conference Company Expo Team
Sumit is a Master of Environmental Management and Master of Business Administration candidate. His goal is to help the world transition to clean energy. He discovered this passion while building and living in a campervan in 2020. This summer, he worked on supporting the commercialization of energy technology at the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations. He hopes that Duke Energy Week will inspire more of the Duke community to invest their energy in this space.
Jack Dearing
Energy Conference Program Team
Jack is a Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Policy student at Duke University, focusing on energy finance and energy policy. He graduated from Duke in 2019 with majors in economics and environmental policy. Prior to returning to Durham, Jack worked in Washington, DC as a power sector analyst focused on congestion pricing in the ERCOT electricity market in Texas and as an investment analyst focused on energy policies at the state and federal levels. He continued similar work as a research associate in the summer after his first year as a graduate student.
Maria Ding
Site Visit
Maria is a sophomore majoring in Financial Economics with an Energy & Environment Certificate. Passionate about energy, she aspires to promote energy transition for the world. Maria is now the Associate Director of Special Programming at the Duke Energy & Climate Club, where she helps committed young people better explore their interests in energy. Before coming to Duke, Maria studied Environmental Science and researched methane emissions regulations and lithium-ion battery technologies. She also popularized information on the Green Olympics as a reporter for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and organized community climate advocacy events as her high school’s Environmental Ecological Club president. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, traveling, and walking in the Duke Garden.
Yufan Du

Yufan is currently pursuing a Master of Environmental Management at the Nicholas School, specializing in business and energy. Prior to her time at Duke, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in business in China. Yufan’s experience as an ESG consultant intern at PwC has solidified her belief in the potential of corporate sustainability. She has faith in the huge impact the private sector could make on climate issues. Her goal is to help businesses effectively invest in solving energy and environmental challenges, creating a win-win situation for both corporations and the environment.
Shannon Duffy

Shannon is a first-year Master of Business Administration candidate at the Fuqua School of Business. After graduating from Georgetown with her B.S., she worked in Debt Capital Markets at U.S. Bank, primarily focusing on the middle market space.
Megan Ferryman
Energy Conference Marketing Lead
Megan is a dual-degree candidate pursuing a Master of Environmental Management and Master of Business Administration. She is interested in leveraging the intersection of communications and climate change to accelerate the clean energy transition. Megan owns a small business and previously worked in non-profit and corporate marketing and communication roles. As a first-year student, she looks forward to supporting the Energy Conference by combining her professional experience with her passion for increasing engagement and awareness on environmental topics.
Fiona Guan
Operations Chair and Site Visit
Fiona is a Master of Public Policy student at Duke with a strong focus on energy and sustainability. As an Event Planner for the Sanford Energy and Environment Club and a Project Fellow at the Duke Energy Club, she’s been at the forefront of organizing impactful conversations on the future of energy. Her time at Ecoflow—a unicorn founded by Duke alumni—gave her the opportunity to contribute to strategic planning for their global expansion in energy storage. During her undergraduate years, Fiona was actively involved in impact investing, gaining valuable experience in sustainable development, which she now brings to her work on Energy Week. There, she hopes to further explore the intersection of social impact and energy transition.
Aditi Jackson
Energy Conference Program Team
Aditi is a second-year Master of Environmental Management and Master of Business Administration student, focusing on Energy and Finance. Her goal is to accelerate the energy transition through financing renewable generation. Last summer, she interned at a Commercial & Industrial Community Solar developer in New Jersey where she gained valuable insight into what it takes to build renewable energy projects. Before school, Aditi worked in ESG / Asset Management in Los Angeles and New York. She looks forward to engaging with individuals across Duke and beyond on critical energy topics.
Jonathan Joyner
Innovation Showcase
Jonathan is a MEM/MBA dual degree student studying sustainable energy solutions. He has analyzed energy markets/policy with The Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center and advanced commercial market opportunities for large scale battery storage with Fluence. He is a former US Army Infantry officer who served with the 4th Infantry Division and Third Infantry Regiment “The Old Guard” from 2018-2023. Jonathan also conducted military strategy research as a Fulbright Scholar in Sri Lanka, studied economic theory with George Mason University, and learned financial modeling skills with Goldman Sachs. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama and plans to continue learning as long as he can. In his free time, Jonathan studies numismatics and enjoys outdoor adventures.
Eli La Ronde

Eli is a first-year Master of Business Administration candidate at the Fuqua School of Business interested in the clean energy transition and enhancing international cooperation to meet global clean energy goals in developing nations. Prior to Duke, Eli received his BS in Mechanical Engineering and worked in Operations for a national facilities services cooperation. Eli’s passion for clean energy comes from being raised in a small island developing state with significant opportunity for clean energy growth and grid expansion. He is thrilled to be a co-lead a panel at this year’s conference.
Mallory Poff
Innovation Showcase
Mallory is a M.S. Mechanical Engineering and Material Science student at Duke University, concentrating in energy. She is passionate about finding innovative ways to integrate solar onto the grid and hopes to pursue a career in solar development or creating new/improving solar technologies. Mallory is excited to be a part of Duke’s Energy Week Leadership Team to promote more collaboration between schools to create more interdisciplinary experiences for participants. In her free time, Mallory can be found volunteering at Duke Chapel, making music, or playing board games with friends.
Andrew Poulos

Andrew is a Master of Business Administration candidate at Duke University. Before attending Duke, Andrew worked in the energy storage field as a battery engineer at Panasonic Energy of North America and in the commercial aerospace sector at Hexcel Corporation. Andrew is excited to combine his technical background with his passion for clean energy to help solve the challenges our world faces with the energy transition.

Ankitha Ramachandran is a Master of Engineering Management student at the Pratt School of Engineering, with a background in chemical engineering. Prior to Duke, she worked as a flow assurance engineer where she got to witness a major energy company navigate the energy transition. Her experiences inspired her to pivot into a career in clean energy. She is deeply passionate about working towards a sustainable, reliable and equitable energy future. She is excited to be part of the Energy Week leadership team and collaborate with students from different schools.
Cooper Ronald
Community Dinner
Cooper Ronald is a senior at Duke pursuing a B.A. in History and a certificate in Energy and Environment. He most recently worked in project development for a tidal energy startup called Verdant Power. Before that, he worked for a biochar startup, a solar developer, and a construction company. Outside of work and school, Cooper loves to surf, hike, backpack, ski, and travel.
Sam Sedar
Energy Conference Program Team
Sam is passionate about the intersection of the energy transition and finance. With experience as an ESG equity analyst, Sam has a keen insight into how public equity markets are planning for the energy transition. She is currently pursuing a Master of Environmental Management and Master of Business Administration to gain a deeper technical understanding of the energy sector necessary to accelerate and scale renewable energy technologies, aiming to mitigate the inequitable impacts of a rising global temperature.
Aaron Siegle
SMR Panel
Aaron is passionate about advancing unconventional clean energy technologies and policy solutions. As a student majoring in Environmental Science and Policy with a Certificate in Energy and the Environment, he is interested in urban planning, climate tech and grid modernization. He has gained experience working on data center sustainability with Southern Environmental Law Center, solar development with Silicon Ranch Corporation and conservation easements with Maryland Environmental Trust. He is a co-author of the U.S. Department of Interior’s first ever report on Nature-based Solutions. He has also researched ecological economics with Duke’s History Department and is currently investigating the impact of urban sprawl on marsh migration in the mid-Atlantic.
Vidya Sivaramakrishnan

Vidya Sivaramakrishnan is a member of the class of 2026 at the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She graduated from Rice University in Houston, TX with a BA in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. After Rice, she worked as a financial analyst at Phillips 66 and as a consultant at Blue Ridge Partners, a boutique consulting firm that advises companies on how to accelerate profitable revenue growth.
Nick Sorokin
Energy Conference Program Team Lead
Nick is a dual Master of Business Administration, Master of Environmental Management candidate at Duke University focused on electric power markets. He became interested in clean energy through an elective in undergrad—switching his major as a result—and hopes that this year’s conference will inspire more students across Duke to work in this important and growing sector. Entering his third year, Nick has completed internships with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission focused on bilateral trades in non-RTO markets, as well as utility-scale renewables origination and development at BayWa r.e. and Duke Energy respectively.

Sadie is a dual Master of Environmental Management and Master of Business Administration Student, concentrating in Energy and Environment and Environmental Economics & Policy. Prior to her time at Duke, Sadie lived in Washington, DC, and worked in international tax consulting. She is excited to be a part of the Energy Conference planning committee to support the inclusion of diverse voices in discussing the energy transition. Sadie earned a B.S. in Economics with minors in Physics and Sustainability from George Washington University, and in her spare time enjoys playing guitar, hiking, and exploring the Durham Farmers Market.
Amber Wright

Amber is a dual-degree candidate at Duke University, pursuing a Master of Environmental Management and a Master of Business Administration. She is deeply passionate about centering equity while crafting decarbonization strategies to ensure that everyone has equal, affordable access to clean energy. Amber is excited to be part of the Energy Conference team because it allows her to merge her interests in community building and energy justice. By working alongside others who are committed to highlighting the importance of collaboration in the energy transition, she emphasizes the necessity of partnering with other nations to advance toward a carbon-free future.
Olivia Wuttke
Marketing Co-Chair
Olivia is a current Masters of Environmental Management student at the Nicholas School of the Environment. She recently received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Denver while graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her interests include conservation, corporate sustainability, and environmental science, as she is a passionate lover of animals and the outdoors. Being from New Orleans, Louisiana motivates her desired involvement in combatting the current and future problems caused by climate change.
Yin-Chia “Angeline” Yang
Solar Panel
Yin-Chia “Angeline” is a Master’s degree in Public Policy candidate at the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University. She hold a double Bachelor’s degree in History and Library Information Science from National Taiwan University. Before joining Duke, she co-founded an energy startup in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Her work involved developing a business model that would allow local fish farmers to benefit from the Fishery and Electricity Symbiosis policy. She is passionate about promoting clean energy in economic development in an ethical and sustainable way, she spent the summer interning at the E4ST energy modeling team at Resources for the Future, further exploring the impact of research on policymaking.
