A chiller plant is a centralized system that cools the air for Duke buildings and provides the air-conditioning portion of HVAC systems. The system operates year round to keep up with the demands of campus buildings.
The first 30 minutes of the tour will involve an overview of Duke’s energy needs and the Climate Action Plan. Hats and safety glasses are provided for the tour, however, close toed shoes are required. There will also be a safety discussion at the beginning of the tour.
